WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

This list contains everything I’ve worked on, no matter how much or little I’ve done. The projects that are nearing completion are marked as “translated,” “revised” or “edited.” The other projects may be six pages scribbled on notebook paper or twenty-five pages of a typed, ready-to-revise script. If you are curious about the status of any non-marked project, please feel free to contact me. I’ll be glad to let you know what’s going on and when I plan to give it serious attention.

Here are some definitions of terms:

Translated

This means I’ve completed a rough draft.

Revised

I usually start revisions when I know a graphic artist will be available soon to edit. For example, while the graphic artist is editing the first chapter, I’m busy revising the second. “Revised” means I’ve fixed up my rough draft so the dialog sounds nice and, now, it’s ready for the graphic artist to work her magic. Usually, when it says “revised,” an editor is currently working on it. I’ll try to include the expected release date when I can.

Edited

At this point, it’s almost done. The scans have been cleaned, typeset, and all I need to do is check it over for mistakes. Usually, this doesn’t take more than a day or two. So if you see something that says, “Edited,” you can usually expect it fairly soon.

(”Editing” in the scanlation world means “graphic art work.” Editing occurs in two parts; “cleaning,” which is removing the Japanese, and “typesetting,” which is replacing it with English. It is not the same thing as an “editor” in the publishing industry. I didn’t know that until I started doing this, so, in case you’re confused, too, I thought I’d explain.)

RockCJ’s avatarThe Mysterious Stories of Ghost Moon Tower has two volumes? Why did I not know this?! I thought it was just one volume. I thought I knew all her works, but no.

As an Ima fan (or rather and embarrassingly, 100% fangirl), I fail.

FAIL, I tell you.

(T_T)

:D

I’m always waiting patiently for your Yamagata sensei’s scanlation. Keep up with such great works! Thank you so much for always sharing your beautiful scanlation with all of us. Can never thank you enough ;)

Kawii neko x3’s avatarOMG! if you need any help getting ppls to proffread just tell me!i love to revise scans! i usually help my friends with it ^__^

nami’s avatarJust saying thanks for introducing me to Ima sensei’s works :)

Guess you’ll be seeing Yamamoto Kotetsuko | A Boring Man: Chapter Three: Let’s Tie Hands Firmly very very soon. :3

…though I did pass the date I was planning for (New Years) -cough-

Anyway yea. ^^ You shall see it soon. :3

Lets Tie Hands Firmly is in Qcing now. :3
Hoping it’ll be up sometime soon like tonight or tomorrow. XD

Sithe’s avatarA Chance Encounter in the Cosmos (Bannin) - are you by any chance scanlating this? http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=15069 credits PresenceDear for the description, so I was just wondering.

presencedear’s avatarRE: Chance Encounter

No. Bushido Angel Adventures will be scanlating it.

CandidKage’s avatarHow can I access/download the past chapters? The links aren’t present for some of them.

Also, The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese… I hear it’s over 1 vol? If so, will you be translating that when it comes out? (I really loved that series)

Anyways, I love ALL of your projects!! Thank you so much for your consistent effort ^_^/ ~<3

presencedear’s avatarCan you please tell me specifically which links aren’t present? I can’t find anything wrong, but it’s possible I missed something.

There have been no new developments on Mouse since my last post. I’ll update as soon as I know something.

CandidKage’s avataroh, it seems the links are there again. They weren’t there last time, but it’s okay now. sorry to worry you!

amoxi’s avatarfirst of all……my very earnest thanks for all the hard work……second……you guys really have a good hand for picking out some awesome artists, many of them were my fav artists before, and some of them I learned to adore through your scanlations, so thanks a bunch…..recently it’s been Yamagata Satomi I’m totally hooked on, thats why my question:
In case of Three Quarters, do you plan to release the missing chapters too in the future? I’m confused about it, because it’s still listed as “ongoing” but isn’t appearing in “forthcoming projects”.
I know the rest of the chapters were released somewhen far, far away in the past (i.e. by MfY), but it was the same with some of the chapters you guys scanlated nontheless (and I’m thankful for that)…..whatever I can’t seem to find any links for the chapters done by the other groups anymore and would love to read the missing chapters as well.

Any information is much appreciated :)

…..arrgh sorry I guess I could have put it shorter…..well *scratches head*………

-Raises hands in the air-
Yeah! I finally got it finished!
Part 2 of Lets Hold Hands Firmly that is.
Its in Qcing as i just sent it.
-sigh of relief-

mrsnott’s avatarhey! well first of all, I’d like to thank you for all these LOVELY scanlations…I adore your website. However, visitng the project status section I noticed t¡you no longer have anything from Yamagata Satomi…what’s up w/ that?

shinhinm’s avataraww, I saw you removed The Concerned Mouse.. from the list, what happened?

Wolf’s avatarAre you going to do the kakioroshi from the new printing of The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese?

TA’s avatarHello- I just wanted to sincerely express my thanks for your hard work, particularly on Carp. I loved the Ch.1&2 thus far, and am willing to wait indefinitely for the rest. I look forward to the future releases.

N-chan’s avatarThanks so much for the good news on The Carp on the Chopping Block Jumps Twice–someone recommended it to me, and it was, as she said, really good. I know you’ve been working hard, and so have the other members of the team!

Maggie’s avatarNo worries on the Carp delays! We’ll wait as long as it takes for your awesomeness. ^_^ So glad we get it soon!

IxK’s avatarthank so much for all your hard work!

mashiro’s avatarchapter three was amazing! thank you for everything that you’ve done!

gigi’s avatarthank you for the new release of carp, its just a great story, I really love this one, thank you for your hard work, chapter three was great, and so long, I really got in to it, geesh, I even cried lol, hugs

I wonder why the author choose “The Carp on the Chopping Block Jumps Twice” as a title?
How does she/he manufacture these out of the box phrases?
This is her signature, isnt it?
Because of her intriguing use of words, i was interested in dl Cornered Mouse and d I really liked it. And look, there’s even a sequel! I only learn it today! Im so glad i came across this site. You made my day, honestly! ^_^

I know how most of us are already used to BL formula’s. But i like how the author formulate her own twist to make this story stand out from the rest of the BL stories. ….

Please update as many as you can manage? Hehe. Thanks a lot for all the efforts youve put into making this scans, guys. ^_^

Poshul’s avatarPeople, it’s not very nice to harass those who are doing you a service like that. I don’t want to see them shut down or something because people couldn’t stop bitching at them when they are doing a damn fine job with the quality of their releases. I’m dying for the Carp chapter too but I wouldn’t dream of sending e-mails and shit asking when it’s going to happen. Have people never heard of manners?

Come on people, be grateful and don’t bother the people who are working hard for free >.<

Cotita’s avataroh my god!!!! i’m so exited!!!! i look every day for the final chapter of The carp just in case xD…. it’s so addictive!!!! really i cry and cry every time i read The mause and the carp!!!! hahahahahaha…. well i don’t lose time, while you translate the last chapter i look for others mangas, so i can wait all the time in the world for you… i really apreciate the effort^^

thnx a lot for the hard work!!! if i could read japanese i would help you T_T…

well… rest well so you don’t fall of fatigue!!!!

*sorry if my english is weird xD… but this is not my languaje ^^

kisses!!

Maya’s avatarThank you for everything and please don’t care this ‘children’ comments :3 I really appreaciate your work and hope that others too ^^

bird’s avatarIt’s shameful that you’re being harassed about your releases (people emailing to pressure you? Come on, that’s just outrageous). Not to defend them in any way, but it seems in this day and age it’s the whiny whiner who gets attention for their demands, yes, it’s childish but unfortunately you see it everywhere.

Regarding Carp chapter 4, I don’t want to be presumptuous, but I hope I speak for the majority of your readers when I say it will be a delight WHENEVER it releases, at Halloween or ANY time that works out for you and your team. Please don’t let the superficial ingrates get you down, they’re not worth your attention.

Besides, the anticipation is sweet in itself! Maybe one has to be a certain (ancient) age to appreciate that!

Sayuri’s avatarI just want to say that I’m very appreciative of the work you do. I’m always very excited for a new release from you due to the fact that you choose several of my favorite mangaka.

Take as much time as you need. I’ve been following your scanlation site for a year now, and I’m not going to get greedy. I understand just how difficult it must be to sit there and translate entire manga from start to finish. (I was in an Elementary Japanese class, so it put the perspective on how much work you actually put forth to complete your projects.)

I’m am also a huge Mizushiro Setona fan, but I hate it when people don’t have the patience to wait for whatever they like to be released. Shouldn’t the excitement build?! I absolutely enjoy waiting for the releases, because by the time the chapter gets released, my excitement overflows!

Basically, I just want to commemorate you on your job. It really makes me happy that you’d take it upon yourself, your own personal time, to do these things for people who care nothing of it, but to read the chapter as quickly as they can without letting the work sink into their skulls.

TA’s avatarI wonder if a simple ‘Thank You’ can ever express my gratitude towards you and your team of translators?

Thank you :)

So much.

N-chan’s avatar“The Carp” is my favorite manga I’m waiting for, and I’m just grateful it’s being translated. Thank you very much for doing this.

Without scanlators, where would we all be? The few books in print are just not enough. Why would someone be so stupid as to annoy the people who are doing something for them? Do we really want there to be fewer scanlators? Not me. Please support them instead, however you can.

Marie’s avatarNICE SPEECH!!! I’m so tired of ppl who think everything is free and due. If it weren’t for you, many would never have discovered this series, so they just should be grateful and wait patiently. I mean, you have no obligation toward anybody concerning those scans and you could stop anytime, so harassing you for it it’s very unwise of them. Indeed, many BL fans act like kids AND ARE KIDS, so kids, if you decided to enter adult world, act like adults.
For the bunch of greedy hogs who can’t wait, you have no idea of how much work it is, if you’re not happy waiting, then buy the book and learn Japanese.

Please take your time, you’re not a slave, you should have fun doing it otherwise it’s not worth the price. :)

lei’s avatarwow that’s too bad, about some people. D: but i hope you didn’t mean people who kept checking this site like three times a day for any release because i sure am guilty of that hahahaha (or did you? D:)

well in any case, i can’t wait for carp! i’ve already read it in the original but in english it’s like a whole new… experience. hahahaha. please keep up the good work! you’re making a lot of fans happy (s’why some of them are going berserk, but that’s beside the point).

??’s avatarThanks for explaining that to us. Some people are just too immature. Of course you have a life outside of this website and I hope everything goes well. Obviously those who are posting such ridiculous comments have no lives so they could never really understand. Thanks for your patience with them and take your time. You’re also doing this for the fun too, so I hope that this continues to be fun and not a burden instead.

Kiwi Bird’s avatarI sympathize with your frustration. *nod nod* But please don’t let a vocal minority spoil your enjoyment of this project. The vast majority of your fans are deeply grateful and generally patient. Hang in there, ne? And thanks.

HopelessOsaka’s avatarOh man, people have been complaining that badly about Carp? ._.;; *I* frankly want to apologize for that kind of behavior from some of the other readers; I’ve personally adored the manga so far because it really is one of those works that puts the reader through a wonderful bit of emotional turmoil.

Still, it doesn’t give an excuse to pester people who’re working adamantly to scanlate a huge chapter for an emotionally-charged manga, so I want to say I absolutely appreciate your work. I’ve worked with scanlation teams before (mostly translation editing, cleaning and typesetting), and I know that it takes some goddamn patience to even get through twenty-page chapters regardless of the series, let alone forty to fifty (hell, I heard this one was near a hundred?).

You guys are working much harder and quicker than should be expected, so I really do feel it necessary to at least sincerely thank you for that. Thank you so much. <3

bird’s avatar^As stated in the status details, Carp chapter 4 is 160 pages. 160 PAGES!!, it seriously has to be some kind of record breaker.

shadowbunny’s avatarthank you so much for all your hard work! it must be so stessful doing this huge project and having people wine and complain during the whole process. Its a shame that so many people dont understand common respect and learn how to be grateful.

galsene’s avatarI just wanted to say Thank you!!! It’s really great what you are doing and I enjoy it a lot! I’m a big fan of The carp on the chopping block jumps twice, and Just wanted to thank you for your big scanlating job!!!!
Keep up this great job and I just hop everything runs well for you!
Thumbs up for your work!
And I hope that those people who wine an complain understand what luck they have to read your great scanlations, and that they show respect for your work!

kp’s avatarWow I just looked at the Raw’s of the last chapter and oh boy is that a lot of translation !!! so just want to thank you again for all of your hard work and effort……. thank you! thank you! thank you!

Xin’s avatarWow… Is chapter 4 the final chapter for Carp, then? *_______* Thanks for all your hard work, really appreciate it!! Looking forward to the next chapter ^____^ It’s such a beautiful manga… I find it has a lot of depth and emotional impact… the characters are certainly more ‘real’ than in some other mangas I’ve read… chapter 3 was heartbreaking.

Never knew a chapter could be so long *blinks* That’s like 3/4 of a normal tankoubun.

Irene’s avatarThank you for taking time to translate these stuff. You don’t owe us anything but we’re grateful nonetheless when golden nuggets of scanlated chapters fall into our greedy hands. :P That’s me and my inner yaoi fangirl speaking.

Mizushiro Setona has become one of my fave manga-ka.

shi_en_ta’s avataroh my God.. how could that “children” pester you - the one who deliver such a lovely scanlation - like that… how rude!

i’d like to help, but now i have a job… doh…

anyway thank you so much for pick this mangas (mouse and carp), it’s my first time to encounter Setona Mizuhiro’s work… and it’s such an incredible manga ^_^

N-chan’s avatarThank you, I’m sooo looking forward to The Carp! I’m glad to hear that for you that this difficult time is almost over.

Setona-senpaiFAN

Setona-senpaiFAN’s avatar

Setona-senpaiFAN’s avatarI cannot wait for the release of Carp!!! Thank you so much for persevering on your endeavor to complete this project for us all!!!

I’ve been checking everyday (literally) and am on the edge of my seat with anticipation.

Many thanks!!!!

PresenceDear’s avatarHahaha, N-chan, Setona-senpaiFAN… you guys are so funny! You really must be checking all the time!

Just give me a couple hours. I’m trying not to make too many last minute changes, but it’s hard. I could pick at it for months and never feel satisfied. But uploading is what’s really going to take a long time. This thing is loooooooooong!

poo’s avatari love you guys ;D carp is one of my all time favourites :]

klipps’s avatar* in tears *

Well, i’m really thankful for your hard work.
The carp is finally over. It feels awkward.
You even managed to translate and make us understand the most subtle sentences. Thus I want to you to know that I feel such a great admiration towards you.
Thank you very much, I’ll keep on supporting you.

kidekiduu’s avatarCarp was just wonderful, one of a kind, and at least, what we craved for:)
I’m really-really thankful, that you kept doing this project in spite of the heavy urge to throw it away halfway. I cant appreciate it enough - actually, Carp became my all-time favourite (love? shonen-ai?) manga of its kind. The dialogues are marvelous, and this praises the translator as well. Briefly, it’s a big

THANK YOU A LOT!

And I’m looking forward to the future projects, given that our taste seems to match 100%ly:)

Lysie’s avatarThank you for the scans! ^_^ I really really really appreciate it. I just hope you guys don’t push yourselves too much. We could wait. :) Eat well you guys! Take care. :) *huggs*

*sighs* I just wish I could help, though. hehehe. If only I could read japanese writings. I had been searching to learn but somehow, the ones I always find are not for learning instead for writing… ugh… hehehe. I just hope one day I could join you guys. hahaha. :D

And I also wander what it feels like… hehehe.

Ok, bbye! Until my next visit soon. :)
