I loved the “Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese” and now a sequel… I AM IN HEAVEN! Seriously, I love these two guys and had been wondering at the end of the 1st book whether or not Kyouichi and Imagase were going to continue their relationship after their first night of passion (using Extra Virgin Olive Oil). Okay, I threw in the Extra Virgin part but wouldn’t that have been funny if that was on the label of the Olive Oil bottle. ^_^ Anyway, I just want to thank you for all your hard work and for bring us the sequel. I love the 2 chapters and can’t wait to see if Kyouichi fully makes a commitment to Imagase and finds his Happy Ending.

“The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese” was the best yaoi piece I’ve ever read (because of its maturity, very well captured psychological aspects and incredible sexiness). Reading the the sequel makes me want to cry tears of joy.

Waaah! You weren’t kidding when you said this chapter was heartbreaking! *sniffle* Oh, man. There are so many moments that made me so happy (Ootomo finally taking an active role in the bedroom, the bath afterward, Ootomo helping out his subordinate without sleeping with her –until later–, Imagase being so adorably domestic) that it was hard when it made me cry. Maaan, I really hope they get back together. Initially, I was disposed to give Okamura the benefit of the doubt, but when she said she was glad that Ootomo was alone again (even though he was clearly miserable), I couldn’t help being angry with her.

*wry smile* I’m so lame, getting so worked up over a story. But, seriously, thanks for all your hard work. I’ll be watching for the next chapter. *nod nod*

I check this site religiously for updates - personally, not relying on anyone else, as every release is precious - and I am rewarded for my vigilence with the most wrenchingly sad and bittersweet plot twist yet - and I adore you for it, absolutely, completely. Mizushiro Setona always, always surprises, (think After School Nightmare) perhaps because she has an unerring eye for what really in happens in relationships: the slips, the misses, the instances of sweetness, the chilling coldness and bitter ire, the honeyed seconds of sublime joy that leaven pain. And I am so invested in these two - I so want them to overcome everything and allow themselves to be happy - that it feels ‘personal’ and immediate. The Director’s daughter can go pound sand; I will root for my elusive ‘happy ending’ with all my might and keep a weather eye fixed on your very dear prescence.

I felt the tears weld up in my eyes as I continued to read… The pain was burning off the pages, it felt so intense I could barley take it. I don’t want Kyouichi and Imagase to break up… Poor Imagase, I can’t wait to read the next chapter, though this is going to be one hell of a wait that is going to bug me to death. I don’t want it to end T.T This is the second manga to ever make me cry and feel such pain in the writing.

The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese was by far my favorite manga of all time. For some reason, something about it resonated with me, and without knowing why I kept going back to it, rereading it, and finding new things in it. Last night (at two in the morning) I found out that there was a sequel. Obviously, I had to read it at that moment. I got to the end of the third chapter. I feel like I’m dying inside. If they don’t get back together in chapter four, I think this part of me might not recover…

Ah, thank you so much for scanlating this manga. Setona Mizushiro just comes up with the best plots, and I love her work. It’s so sad that Kyouchi can’t think for himself - He’s only prodded along by other people, always afraid of what people’ll think of him.

Chapter Three was probably one of the best chapters so far…And also a major cliffhanger. Now I -really- want to know what happens next. xD

OMG. The more I read of Mizushiro Setona, the more I’m falling for her works. Her relationships are so much more thoughtful and deeper than most yaoi works are out there. Though this is still just manga, there’s no idealized, glossy, fantasy hopes and predictability with her works. They get dark, real and believable at a certain level I love.

And what I am gratefull for is that your team’s work is excellent to translate and carry all these through onto the page! I could just imagine how easy it would of been to misinterpret translations to a point to miss subtle words and dumb down the dialogue to a point to make this feel like any other typical yaoi series. And because of that, I’m truly gratefull for all your hard work to share with the world. And open our eyes on more of Mizushiro Setona’s works. Now I just hope they get published in english so even more ppl can read her works.

I started shaking when I saw this. I was excited but at the same time the last installment left me so emotional I was afraid to read it. So I locked myself in my room and spent a few hours reading the ending and then the whole thing again. I don’t want to spoil anything but somehow sensei pulled it off. So did you guys. wow! i just finished reading the 2 volumes again. I did what rnngwen did. haha! so meaningful- the conversations between Imagase and Kyouchi were so amazing the second time around. loved loved these two characters so much. I can empathize with both. also loved Tamaki. thanks all you guys at presencedear for all the hard work!!!! and looking forward to Mizushiro sensei’s works.

Setona Mizushiro really did a great job tying up all the different characters especially Imagase and Kyouchi. I almost, ALMOST didn’t read Ch.4 after everything that had happened in Ch.3. Great job!

The manga is one of my - NO - it is my favorite because I had
so many different emotions during the reading.

That having been said, I was kind of frustrated with Mizushiro-sensei, because she made poor Imagase beg. Kyouichi really did still have feelings for Imagase, so he should have been honest about it. And Imagase shouldn’t have asked Kyouichi to dump Tamaki and then try to disappear again. They need to trust each other and be honest with each other, or it’ll never work! Grrr!

I did like the way that she brought Imagase back into the picture, though, because it showed that he was still working, and that he was good at his job. It felt natural.

*sigh* I guess the fact that I got so worked up means that Mizushiro-sensei really succeeded in getting me to care about the characters. I did think the afterword was surprisingly revealing, though. Most authors aren’t that candid about their personal lives!

this story was amazing! I got so worked up about it i was screaming with glee lol. And I checked out that video/song that was mentioned in chapter 4, I think it was, and it fits with this storey so freaking well!

Good manga can make me awake for a whole night thinking the bits & pieces about it~ & I am happy to tell that this manga is one of them~~
It is lay out in a graphic novel style~~ I wonder how will it look like if it is a novel~~^^

Hi there, I just want to show my appreciation of what you have done for these 2 wonderful works by Setona Mizushiro. I stumbled upon this goldpile a few days ago after seeing it ranked #3 in a 2009 BL comics chart, it is by far one of the best BL works I’ve read with 2 totally flawed characters who can probably never live without each another. I love that the story wasn’t cushioned with fluff and that we got to see all the faults & weaknesses that make us human. I felt as if my heart went through a wringer throughout the hours I spent on these 2 volumes, don’t even get me started on Pg 106 in Chapter 3, I literally went “HOLYSHIT” and wept, that was seriously the most heartbreaking face I ever saw in a manga. Imagase… don’t we all see him as the personification of all the unrequited loves in our lives. For all the pain and anguish that the manga had put me through, it was worth it at the end of the day. Awesome job done, presencedear. Thank you for sharing this beautiful work with us.
