New Release: Kunie Sakai, Falling in Love, Chapter One

Well, hello again…

I hope you all have been doing well.

Today, I’m pleased to bring you the first chapter from Kunie Sakai’s manga, Falling in Love, Even if I Wake from the Dream. This manga is josei (basically, in this case, it’s a romantic comedy about young woman, well, falling in love…) You can download it here.

I say “comedy,” but please don’t think this is anything like my last Kunie Sakai release, Love Me Darling. This is a far more serious work, maybe even a drama (especially the first and last chapter) but not “dark.” One of the great things about Kunieda/Sakai-sensei is her diversity. She writes insane comedies, then, the next moment, turns around and writes terribly depressing dramas. To me, Falling in Love is kinda in the middle, a fairly straightforward comedy/drama.

Personally, I’m excited because I finally have something to show my friends and family who are always asking, “When can we see some of this translating stuff you’re always talking about?” I think yaoi would scare or scandalize most of them, and “Love Me Darling” was too crazy for Mom. But this will work.
