New Release: Saika Kunieda, “Secrets and Lies” (Like As the Time Will Come When It Will Rain, Chapter Five)

For all you “speedy” types, here’s the quick version:

New release. Saika Kunieda, Like As the Time Will Come When it Will Rain, Chapter 5. You can download it here. Enjoy!

In more detail, this story is called “Secrets and Lies” and it’s one of Kunieda Saika’s darker works. If you prefer “cute” to “disturbing,” this is probably not something you’ll like. I don’t want to give anything away, so I won’t give any more warning than that, but just be aware that this isn’t exactly heartwarming.

If you prefer the sweeter side of Kunieda Saika, we have some of that coming very soon, so please look for it in the near future.

Also, August is the month I celebrate my “translating anniversary.” It was roughly two years ago this month that I got this crazy urge to teach myself Japanese. ^__^ Anniversaries are a good time to look back and see how far I’ve come (instead of always thinking about where I want to be) and it seems like I’ve made a lot of progress this year. Thanks to everyone who has stuck by me along the way. And thanks to all you new readers, too. I will endeavor to keep providing you with both cute and disturbing stories next year, too.

glorious5ky’s avatarwow, happy anniversary, if you’re not forcing your self then we can’t enjoy Saika Kunieda’s work today. thank you

presencedear’s avatarThanks, Yuu. And you’re welcome.

Thanks, glorious5ky!

Cannella’s avatarHappy anniversary! ^__^
Wow, two years! Thanks for your hard work improving yourself, your translations are very good.!
I’m going to read the new chapter now, say ‘disturbing’ or ‘angst’ and you’ll have my interest for the story. ^_~

presencedear’s avatarThanks, Cannella!

Maybe I should say “psychologically complex” instead of “disturbing.” But the end really did upset me the first time I read it. Up to that point, I wanted to feel sympathy for Sasaki, but, then… wow. I’m not sure I can.

lou’s avatarHappy anniversary! You’re doing a great job and your choices of what you translate are always so wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing with us.

mag’s avatarthank you very much, like always i will enjoy reading ur releases :)

mundilfari’s avatarI was lucky enough to have the very first yaoi story I read be by Saika Kunieda. As unsettling as this story is, it has only affirmed my love for her work. This whole volume has been amazing in every way - what I’ve read so far. Thank you so much for scanlating it. As well as the other mangas you are doing. You have very good taste ;)

And yes, happy anniversary! Hope there are hundred years more lol

Rachel Lynn’s avatarWow, you weren’t kidding about that being a dark tale. “Disturbing” is probably a good word for it. That’s something I love about Saika Kunieda’s stuff: one release can make me feel all warm and happy, and another can leave me feeling unsettled. You never know quite what to expect.

Happy translating anniversary and keep up the great work!

Squirrel’s avatarMaybe with this anniversary PD can start shooting out more releases. ^^
Anyway happy late translating anniversary PD. XD
Bring out the Seme’s or Uke’s your choice and lets have a party! ;D

naked_city’s avatarThank you so much for the release! Saika Kunieda continually amazes me. I knew we were meant to feel something was amiss from the beginning of the story, but that feeling never went away, even after the all the clues and revelations, which was excellently done on senesei’s part, because that ending–! (Seeing Katagiri smile after that flashback was truly like a punch in the gut. Makes it look like XXX is poised to ruin TWO people’s lives now. -_-)

Anyway, thanks again for all you hard work! New Saika Kunieda always makes my day–hell, it makes my week!

nic’s avatarthanks for all the hard work in the past two years! (:

m.f.’s avatarThanks for your hard work. You’re doing a fantastic job. I probably wouldn’t have thought of reading Saika Kunieda without reading your scanlations and now she’s hands down one of my favorite mangakas. Thanks again for scanlating such cute and sweet stories!!

m.f.’s avatarOops - not that this one is cute and sweet…because it’s neither but thanks your work in either case… Teehee. I feel stupid now.
