New Release: Ima Ichiko, “The Setting Sun”

Well, the site is up and running. So far, no major distasters. *crosses fingers* Thank you all for your comments. I still can’t figure out how to reply to them, so I’ll just say it all here. It’s been a rough couple of weeks, so it’s good to know it wasn’t all in vain. Thanks! I slept until noon today so I’m feeling a lot better now… like I can actually write a somewhat intelligible post. Amazing!

So, we already have our second “website release.” I wasn’t expecting this to be finished so soon, but here it is! (Thanks, Coccyzus!) I loved this story. It’s called “The Setting Sun” and it’s the first chapter in a book of short stories by Ima Ichiko called Five Box Stories. I plan to do the other stories as well. They’re all very short and seem fairly straightforward, so these will be good to work on when other projects are causing me stress.

Speaking of Ima Ichiko, I’m also reading her series, The Mysterious Story of Ghost Moon Tower (my temporary title…) It’s a story about the heir to a miso store and a talentless male geisha, and, yes, it has ghosts. I have no plans to scanlate it at this point, but I’m taking notes as I go, just in case. If no one else picks it up, some day in the distant future, this may appear on my forthcoming list. No promises, though. I think Ima Ichiko is becoming my new obsession…
