Like As the Time Will Come When It Will Rain

From all you projects, this one is probably my favorite, I can say that it is thanks to you that I got obsessed with Kunieda Saika’s works. Thanks so much for all the effort you put into scanlating this story (and all the other ones).

i must say that this time around we see a darker side of kunieda sensei’s works, much different from kaze no yukue and its prequel this one tackles about love that binds. the one i liked the most was Like as the time will come when it will rain. the blood at the last page i think signifies that when the time comes that shiro will regain his memory and would hate kyou and leave him then he will ‘release shiro’ from all the heartbreaks by killing him at the same time capturing him as well. kunieda-sensei talks about in this manga the inevitable that just like when the rain falls shiro will someday regain his memories. ‘if it rains if it pours’ kyou doesn’t care anymore and fully grasps and accepts that he loves shiro and will do anything not to let anyone get in between them. all in all Like as the time will come when it will rain is something that when you read it once you would want to read it again. there was no narration, and it wasn’t written in a first person point of view, we only get a glimpse of what the plot really is by the cryptic thoughts that kyou left behind at the end.

hi, i appreciate your work. a small notice: i think the title means, ‘may the rain fall someday’, as an expression of a wish. great manga!

@Rika: Hehe please don’t mind my jumping in. My guess would not be a wishing expression, instead I think it means “Someday, (the time will come) just as the rain will (surely) fall down” XD My Japanese not that great though. Nor my English. Anyway I just have this feeling that the title presencedear use is actually an English title given by the mangaka in the original manga. If not then it’s my bad hehe. Anyway ‘Like as the time will come when it will rain’ sounds cute and it’s definitely close to the meaning I chose XD

@Shuu: Yes I agree, and not only here we see her dark stories… She does write dark, rather depressing stories such as Bannin (Bannin, Sora no Uragawa) and Natsu Jikan (Natsu Jikan, Torrid Night). Sora no Uragawa is the darkest in my opinion (from her scanlated works…). Though her dark stories are definitely awesome, I actually prefer her lighter, cute stories such as Earlobes series and Mirai no Kioku.

Seriously that chap5 was freakingly unexpected. Although the angst and the overall tone of the collection bode nothing pink i mean THAT?! geez as that gut said the real torture will begin now…>.<

I’de already been into Saika’s work for quite a while but when this came up it just blew me away!
Usually you don’t expect a good story/plot with interesting characters from a oneshot but I can tell you that when I finished reading the first chapter of this book I cried my heart out. I was crying for a good 10 minutes afterwards too. I was so incredibly moved.
I dont care if I cant understand the language, I just can’t waiting for it to get liscenced in english. If anyone knows where I can buy the japanese book then please e-mail me.

I’ve been so busy that I just now read chapter 5 and my god! I love Kunieda Saika so much! Great job guys

I can never forget the title story! I have one of the pages from that story in large format as my desktop at work. I find both characters very touching. Thank you ever so much for scanlating it and introducing me to it! I’m really excited to read the remainder of this volume.
Saika Kunieda is one of my favourite mangakas. Memory of the Future (Future Lovers 1 and 2) and Bannin are also on my list of books that I could-read-the-words-and-stare-at-the-illustrations everyday list!
